I would agree, I do like having a tourpak. I have a '19 Ultra limited, that I take the tour pack off (detach kit) and ride like a electra glide. But if the little lady and I are traveling, the tourpak goes back on. My FLHRCI is just a project bike, I picked it up cheap and just use it to putt around. Being an '04 with the smaller frame (than the 19), it's easier to buzz through traffic or to the beach.

Beautiful bike! I have a set of spoked wheels on my 04 RKC. They need to be cleaned up a bit but, I'd be willing to do some trading with you. I'm in North Alabama though.

I have a FLHTCU and FLHR with trunk. There is never a time I don't want the storage. Never a time it is worth the effort to just look cute. LIke the guys who spend the time to take off a comfortable seat to put on a cute one.

Not for me. I 3 bikes, they all got trunks.

To me it's not about looking cute, even though I will admit the bikes both look better without the tourpak, but that the bikes have more umph without it. Not carrying additional pounds. If I need to go buy something large I take my truck. If I can fit it in the two saddlebags I'll take the bike. On long trips the tourpak goes back on the Limited, putting around up and down the coast, nothing I need to buy so large as to warrant the luggage space. To each his own brother.

I've got a set of spokes I took Off my 03 Road King Classic. Maybe interested in a trade.
How far are you from Clearwater?

I like riding bikes, so I prefer not to go back for truck.

I call BS that 20-30 lbs creates noticible ooph. If you believe that you should get bar and shield salad bowl.

Only time I really notice it when travelling and luggage racked loaded heavy and high. Other wise and empty trunk is an empty trunk.

Just for full reveal, I have considered someday getting a bar hopper. But I suspect it would end up like the rest of my bikes. For me the touring bikes just feel the same no matter what almost. If I were to actually get a bar hopper it would be a little bike.

I get your bike looks good. I just won't give up the convience. Either way I think it is a bad idea to sell the trunk. I doubt you will get much for it, and nice to have, even you don't use it alot. Nothing else nice to have a back up your Ultra. I been working on ultra, been down for around a month. Nice to have another bike with as much storage.

Unless you really need the money, I say hold on to it. I suspect no name after markey trunks don't get you much anyways

Spokes belong on dirt bikes, in my opinion. Ya they look cute. Can patch tire and you have to maintain them. I just want to ride.

I agree on the spoke wheels, they look good... I just don't like the idea of a tube leaving me stranded. I'd consider keeping them mags you have and throwing WWW tires on them. They look good and perform better than spoke wheels. Here is where I trust my original spokes...
