Default Daymaker lamp on 2020 RK?

Anyone install a Daymaker headlamp on a 2020 Roadking? Before I take it apart, I’d like to know if it’s plug and play or not?

the instructions are not very clear.

Thanks

There are a number of different Daymaker headlamps (Reflector LED, Adaptive LED, Projector LED etc). What specific part number you talking about? Some appear to be p&p while others need a harness adapter.

I don’t know about the road king but on my Electra Glide I had to change the bucket also. This was their first LED. On my 19 Limited the LED is much better throw due to a different pattern. I would definitely look fo this current light than the old one even if I saved money. Just me thoughts.

I’ve taken it apart and it is far from plug and play. The box says it does not require any splicing but the directions tell you to do just that.

$600 for a headlight and it does not include the required harness? Aggravating.

The instructions are not user friendly and I can’t make out what exactly it wants me to cut and splice either.

Amazing that they got you for $18 bucks to ship a $600 dollar headlight. Amazon sends me Q-tips next day for free.

Ok...after studying it more and trying to decipher the instructions....I started cutting and splicing. Exactly what I didn’t want to do and the reason I went with a 600 dollar HD part and not some Chinese Amazon sh*t.

I figured it out and it looks and works great now.

I still would inform anyone who buys this light, it is NOT plug and play. It would be so easy for them to just have the correct adapter in the box.

You're paying for Prime service, correct? And be careful--I've found Amazon sometimes relies on people assuming they're getting a deal and not comparison shopping, and on occasion their prices are not competitive at all. Lately I've tried to shop locally when feasible to support local businesses and I've been surprised how often prices are the same or less than Amazon.

That is very disappointing. I have an HD Daymaker LED in my 2011 Road King that was installed by dealer before I picked the bike up new, and when I had it apart it looks to just have a standard plug and I didn't see any modifications to wiring, but maybe I'm missing something or something's changed in the past nine years...

My chinese amazon crap was plug and play. LOL No cut and dice and splice, all wire are still original. And less than $100 to the door.
