What to look for buying a 1996 Ultra Classic Electra Glide
Greetings from Tokyo Guys!
I am looking at buying a 1996 Ultra Classic Electra Glide which has done around 31k mileage wise and has full service history, all receipts/bills with 4 previous owners. The bike is up for sale at around USD $8,950...and I wont be able to see or test ride it as Im in Japan working. Bike is in the UK...
The bike looks in really great condition with original kit on and I would just like a few pointers to watch out for before sending in another offer to the seller. The seller sent me a video of the bike this morning and it looks and sounds in great order throughout.
Questions
Are EVO engines rubber mounted to the frame?
How are they on long trips?
Is the Passenger Set Up easy to de-rig for around town motoring?
I have heard EVO's are solid in terms of reliability and straight forward with working on, though I would probably take it to my local dealer for a check over if I did buy it...
A friend of mine had a Fatboy from around this period and he said that doing long journeys gave him numb hands after about 2 hours riding...and the seats aren't as comfortable as the newer bikes? Cant the seats be changed at all on this model for a better more comfortable ride...This will be my first HD if I buy it...
Thanks for any assistance guys.

You need to go out to the open forums to ask your questions. Find a forum that best fits your bike model and year there will be people to advise you there. Do some reading first to know you are in the right forum. We also have a vintage forum for the older models that might fit you the best.
But take a bit and read first.
