Default Yet another Mustang question

For those with the Mustang Solo seat on a bagger, who also have he passanger seat, can you tell me:

If you have the solo mounted on the bike, do you have to remove it to attach the passenger pillion? Or can you just ADD the passenger section on with the driver section alread mounted.

Also, if you have a Mutang on a Street Glide, does the nose of the seat ride up on your dash panel at all?

Thanx for any insight.

No and no.

The passenger seat just slips onto the mounting nuts that hold the solo seat on. You then install the screw into the fender to hold the passenger seat in place. You will also need to purchase the solo seat mounting nuts (Mustang part number 78032) that allow you to mount the passenger pad.

The seat made for the SG fits just like the stock seat and does not interfer with the dash.

Funny you should ask. I just received my Mustang solo seat w/backrest today, plus a passenger pillion for my '06 Ultra Classic. I couldn't figure out how to mount the passenger seat so I went to Mustangs web site and found that I didn't order the required mounting nuts (#78032) also. NowI have to wait until those come in.

I went for a short ride and noticed two things; the seat moved me up just a tad but unlike what others have experienced it also moved me back, which I didn't want. Now my arms are fully extended unstead of bent. I guess the next purchase will have tobe extended handlebars. Never ends!

Another observation is the new Mustang is narrower where it lays on the tank so you can see rub marks from my stock seat on both sides. The same goes for the rear fender only it is even worse. It'll probably drive me nuts looking at it so I'll end up purchasing the Mustang rear fender bib to cover the blemishes.

Smitty,

You're not alone. My Mustang solo also moved me back and I am definitely sitting higher than stock. I may end up selling it at some point, but I won't give up just yet.

Regarding the fender abrasions, I had some too and bought a Motherwell rack that kind of hides the fender. Well, it draws attention from the abrasions. I also got the short bib installed to hide the plastic washers.
