Default Tour Pac Latch Loose

Picked up a tour pac from a 14 Ultra , price was right but I had to get some things for it , harness's , base plate , and now it seems the latch doesn't stay latched , it can be popped loose vary easily locked or not. The upper piece doesn't have much of a center tab to engage the hasp piece , it's there but the hasp , with vary little effort, has enough slop to just pop loose when pushed on . . . . do these just ware out over time and need to be replaced ?

What shape is the rubber seal (gasket) in? Might need replacing.

Yes , if I try to open it like normal when it's locked it will pop loose of the latch but the latch will remain locked .

Gonna get some photo's later today.

Hope you got a good deal on the bags because it sounds like you're spending $$$ on parts.

Still way ahead of what an equally equipped tour pac would have cost me , but not as far ahead as I was 2 weeks ago lol

So went to the dealer and ordered a new latch , and a matched lock to my bike , paid an extra $20 to have it over-nighted otherwise good luck on an eta. They said they couldn't over - night the lock , I have one with keys I can use in the meantime , I'll change it when it comes in , nice to only need one key . They did have the top hasp latch bar on hand , it's ever so slightly different than the one on mine , makes you wonder if there was an issue with the original 14's ?
