1.) Post was well written. Don't worry about those that didn't appreciate fine, descriptive, writing.
2.) I completely agree with the comments about not losing much space in the saddlebag AND I would certainly make sure there's a quick disconnect for the wiring so the saddlebag can be removed quickly and easily.
3.) In my opinion, motorcycles are a representation of the rider/owner. Make it your own.
4.) Finally, I think it looks pretty cool. Would you be setting them up as run/turn/brake or just run/turn? I think run/turn/brake would be awesome.
Bottom line - nice idea. I think you're on to something!
Personally I think the fender tip looks UGH! The saddle bag light also not eye candy. I would rather see using the filler lights on the back of the bike, and the saddle bag lights that go just under the lid of the saddle bag, they are sure bright. Unless that's the stock light on the fender bottom, then put the trim back on.

Easily reversible should the need arise, and looks less cobbled together.
I have the lights that are mounted on the upper of saddlebags on my 2021 Street Glide. I think this is a good option. It does have quick disconnect so I can remove the saddlebags for cleaning and maintenance. I think the lamps that mount on the filler is also a good addition. I firmly believe in having all the light I can at the rear of my bike.
Good luck on your decision.
As others said, it's your bike, do what you like. Your solution doesn't look bad, just different. If you're worried about re-sale, I wouldn't drill any visible holes in the bags. Personally I would go with filler lights, and then add those saddle bag lights like QC has if you want more.
Posts like this just make me appreciate my EG Std. more and more.
I have quick release on the tour-pac but no lights or wires to deal with.
I love the uncluttered simplicity of this bike, now back to your regularly scheduled programing.
