Sick of LEDs 2015 Ultra
The bike came with the LED headlights and they a fogging over. Add to that the I am sick of the flat beam going into a turn at night just to see the lack of light ahead of me.
I have an old two bulb light I thinking about (bulb over bulb) It uses h11 and a H9. I thinking about installing it. I know going from old bulbs to LED there are load levels installed. I can order the the 4 pin plug for the bike and plugs for the H11/H9 bulbs
What do I have to do to install the old school lights?
Can I make it so when I go to brights, that both lights come on?
Right now I guessing on running a power to the batwing and using factory switch to relays to power the bulbs.
The bonus to going to the old school bulb is I can install a 100w High beam for the dumb asses that can turn off their brights.
Looking for pointers?
Thanks

Went with the Custom Dynamics Adaptive headlight. I ride slot at night in winter months and find it useful. Better than the Harley Daymaker on my 2019 FLHTP.
I've had the Harley Daymaker LED, and the SunPie brand LED headlight and spotlight.

Man, don't go back to halogen. You just need a better light.
Some guys really have a problem with the cutoff on the Daymaker, I am not sure why, but everybody likes different things.
The best solution is to go with an adaptive light, but they are expensive.
I like the JW Speaker 2nd gen, but they have the cut off, and don't blind oncoming drivers/riders. There are some good lights from Custom Dynamics, and Eagle LED that don't have the drastic cut-off.
The other solutions is to be "that guy" and get one of the cheaper imported LED headlights that are so bright, everybody hits you with their high beams, but they don't have the cutoff that you hate.

The halogen headlight wired with relays gives a good amount of light, but halves bulb life. The Adaptive lights are great in turns but their low beam is less than half the std day maker. (check out headlight revolutions YouTube channel 7” headlight comparison) There’s no inexpensive way out.
You might wanna look at the glendina or Darla fender mounts from Clearwater lights.

Look for a good quality LED since they will mostly eliminate or at least reduce the cut-off. The adaptive LEDs are awesome but not cheap as mentioned. A riding buddy has one and it’s amazing - but his pockets are deeper than mine 😂. I opted for a Custom Dynamics Pro-Beam LED and I’m completely satisfied. Your old halogen and old incandescent, 100 watt units will still disappoint you.
I did the opposite. I went from a two build halogen to an LED. The wiring harness for the two bulb is split high/low, and plugs into the flat (6?) connector. The LED is a single plug, with adapter.
I have to agree with the above, the LED is way better light, but a good one will cost you some $$$. So, go with the halogen, and you shouldn’t have an issue, or buy a decent LED, and adjust it properly, and you’ll see what you’ve been missing.

I just can't see paying over $600 for a light and still have to replace two more passing lights.
I was hoping someone knew how much wattage the headlight plug could handle. I know the LEDs need less power. I am sure I going to have to run a new power wire and relays but I was hoping.

I waited until technology leveled off enough to convince me it was worth putting LEDs all the way around. The performance of the Custom Dynamics Probeam is outstanding. This will be the 3rd year I've been using them. I have zero need or interest in adaptive LEDs
Before getting LEDs, I ran the brightest halogens in my headlight & passing lights....that the conventional wiring would tolerate (can't remember details) but Halogens generate an awful lot of heat and are not anywhere close to performance of LEDs

I went from the factory halogens in my 03 to a dual beam take off halogen and the upgraded later model halogen spots. I went from that to a Sunpie 3 lamp LED setup. I can't imagine going the other direction.
My father in law like my sunpies so much he had me put them in his 03 Heritage
