Washed 07 Ultra now it wont start
Washed my Ultra last night to prepare for a ride today. Now I am sitting at home trying to figure out what is wrong. I dont think I did anything different when washing it but now it wont start. I blew it out with amy leaf blower. ( as I usually do) the lights, turn signals, radio, security, all seem to work ok and the fuel pump makes its noise but when I hit the starter it just makes a clicking noise around the ECM. I am waiting forit to hopefully dry out if there is any water in the wrong place. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you in advance,

same here a couple of times
put a towel on the starter and tap it lightly with a hammer as you hit the starter button
might keep the 2 items with you just in case.. then go to the dealer and document the problem, tell them you want a new starter

I also suspect the batt, but the source could be a wet connection grounding out and sapping the batt. Get it to your dealer, have them hose it down good and then do a diag. Something should show up if its water related.
That might be, I didnt even consider it since It had started fine after sitting for a couple of weeks. ... I called the dealer and said to try charging it first. I just hooked up the battery tender.
Yep, trickle charge the battery and let the bike sit another day or so to "dry out" and that may be all it is.

Kill switch? (wouldn't be the first...)
Battery terminals clean and tight?
Bug guts in the starter button switch (don't laugh, I've seen it keep a bike from starting).
Put it in third gear and roll it a bit to make sure the engine is not siezed or at least in some kind of bind.

As always check and confirm the simple crap first.
Bike was running and starting good before you washed it.
so doubt you have a problem with the battery itself.
The clicking noise was most likely the starter solenoid.
So first make sure the battery cables are clean of corrosion and tight
AT BOTH ENDS!!
then pull the small wire off the solenoid and do the same.
If problem still exists check voltage drop at starter and solenoid, if good
then your problem is in the solenoid or the starter.
I can go into more detail if you want, but the above should locate the actual problem.

My E.W.A.G. would be the battery terminals. The Stealer idiots install the battery and if they are a non skilled, low paid high school drop-out then you know the rest. Put a wrench on the bolts and make sure they are tight. Righty Tighty. Lefty Loosey....
