Burly vs. Wild 1s
Hey everyone,
So, anyone had experience with both of these brands? I am getting closer to getting some apes for the RKC, probably go with 12.5". I like the Wild 1s, but they are a bit pricey. I saw the Burly apes on Kury for much less. What is the difference? Thanks in advance.

I have used Wild 1's on my last few putts as well on a few friends & even my son's RK... Have had great luck with these bars. They look clean and drilled for internal wiring...
Never seen a set of Burly's on a bike yet (well may be I have I just didn't know what I was looking at (lol))
Reguardless of who's bars you go with... Just make sure you replace the upper handle bar clamp the OEM one is JUNK
He's a Burly pdf http://www.burlybrand.com/Catalog/burly.pdf
And I'm sure you can find Burly's or Wild 1's cheaper then buying direct...

Cool. Which clamp should I use? I don't know much about this stuff. Also, I am 5' 11". Will the 12.5" be ok for my height? I know that could be subjective, but still...
Thanks
Thanks
Clamp... Any single upper clamp will work... The OEM is a 2 part clamp...
Right height?? Shoould be OK with only 12 1\2".... Measure it out from the base (top handlebar cover) to where ya what your wrist to be (remember to add about an 1 1\2" to your measurments for the off set).(just keep in mind your still going to have to turn the bike all so)
Also remember your going to have to replace all cables & lines along with extending the wiring harness... That will also add up to some major $$$$

ianchris1, I'm the same height as you are, you might want to consider 16" apes before settling on the 12.5s. Try to sit on a bike set up with these configs at your local dealer or watering hole. I ran 10.5" rise (no need to change cables) off the showroom for years and have to smack myself now for not getting 16" rise Wild 1s sooner.
Don't know anything 'bout the Burly bars, but I do love the 12.5Wild1 chubbies I put on my Custom. I'm 5' 10" and my hands are still below my shoulder and very comfortable. And yes, all the wires had to be extended and all cables and hosesreplaced. Try hdbikeparts.com and Johnny will hook you up with everything you need. Just tell him year, make, model etc. and the bars you want and he'll get you the right length cables and hoses for your bike. He even has theWild1 chubbies and the prices are pretty good too.I got all my cables and hoses for my bike and my wifes Lowrider and it all fit great.

Nice looking Custom there... anyone tried the new 14" yet? Wild 1 doesn't have any pics yet, but I was thinking that might be perfect for me. I think my buddy has 16 on his Fat Boy and that was a little tall for me, but I need to find out first if they were 16 or 18. What is the best way to mock up a set for height purposes? Most dealers around here are limited in what they carry, so I was trying to figure out how to get the feel for the bars before buying them.
