The cut rate pads separate when you need them most leaving you with zero brakes.

There are parts I will absolutely buy from the MoCo. They usually involve fit and finish. Chrome parts such as control levers, pedals and pegs come to mind. Harley still makes a better product when it comes to chromed and weight bearing parts. Consumables...........brakes, tires, fluids, rotors, fasteners......no way. The import consumable parts VS the OEM are indistinguishable.

There are a few parts on my bikes I try not to be a penny pincher about.

Call me crazy, but brake components are on that list.

The good thing is, they last quite awhile, unlike the tires, which are also on that list.

I bought Harley pads for my bike and really wondered why. In all my years of wrenching I don’t think I ever bought Orem brakes for a car or truck that I was using as a family vehicle.
When I need brake pads in the future- it will be aftermarket.

Bought EBC for my 2019 trike back in Feb 2021. Work well.

Front, 2 sets: EBC Brakes FA631HH Double-H Series Sintered Disc Brake Pad $73.40 total.
Amazon Amazon
Rear 2 sets : EBC Double-H Sintered Metal Brake Pads FA409HH $59.98 total.
Amazon Amazon

$143.00 for 4 sets of pads.

This thread reminds me that I should check the pads and moisture content of the fluid, although it passed state inspection last June.

Yeah speaking of brake fluid I learned my lesson on the corroded ABS modules years ago. I just bought a scan tool to fire the ABS module and completely flushed my brakes every two years.

Just getting comfortable, should be some interesting feedback. Definitely subscribed. Interested in how they perform.

Yeah I follow the Service Manual for the recommended two year interval. However, my hydraulic clutch started acting up after 1 1/2 years, checked the moisture and it was over 3%. Flushed it and all is well.

Had the brake fluid flushed and ABS cycled Spring of 2023, but who knows. Measuring the moisture content is the most reliable way. Usually do it every oil change.
