Default Those that have used JB weld to glue oil deflector in primary?

For those of you that have used JB weld or another glue to attach the plastic oil deflector in the primary when upgrading to the Screaming Eagle Compensator which exactly are you using? There are so many different mixes and combinations of JB weld I don't know which one to use.
Thanks for any help.

Thats that stuff...I've done 3 different motorcycles and used that each time. Haven't had any problems with any of them. Obviously cleanliness is next to godliness. Clean the area a few times, then clean it some more. A nice thin layer on both surfaces and I use a clamp to hold them together for roughly 24 hours.

If you're curious about some of the different JB Weld formulations, Project Farm did an Epoxy study that included three different types of JB Weld.

I suspect just about any good epoxy will work... Plus that clip they provide really helps to clamp the scoop in place too.

I used JB Weld too

I cleaned both parts real well, then clamped them overnight.....

I believe it's working well.... haven't heard the scoop bouncing around in my primary.... yet...

It has been a long time since I researched. There is a HIGH TEMP JB Weld but I don't recall the claimed adhesion strength. The JB Weld site has all the information.

I wanted to use JB when I did both my son's and my scooters with the new comps. I checked the JB site and told him JB seems to be "oil-proof" so it should hold. He is an aerospace engineer and asked a question I couldn't answer. "Oil may not affect JB BUT will JB affect the oil?" We used the Harley recommended stuff. From the experiences reported in here, it appears that JB does NOT cause any problems with the oil and will do an adequate job. Your machine, your decision.

An Email to JB might get the above question answered once and for all.

I did a few comps and installed the scoop. I used the epoxy the Harley dealer had and never had a problem. There is also a clip that helps hold it in place. I also used a clamp and let it sit for 24 hrs. JB weld is great epoxy but I never used it in the primary. Clean the crap out of it and scuff up the epoxied area before install

I used the gray JB about 70000 miles ago.. It's still there.. Good clean, rough surface and let set up for 24 hours.. The only thing the HD stuff has is faster setup time.. Most of the other specs, JB is better.
