Default rinehart install

I installed rinehart true duals last night. The instructions call for a bead of high temp silicone where the pipes and mufflers connect.I Let it cure overnight. Started bike this mornin and the o ring of silicone blew out the mufflers on both sides. Am I now going to have an exhaust leak ? Anyone else experience this, and what do I do?

I've installed two sets of Rineharts and never used any silicone. I've just tightened the muffler clamps down good and that was all.

If the silicone blew out then you didn't have the clamps tight enough. Yes there is an exhaust leak if it's loose enough to blow out the silicon.

If it blew out of the joint you will have a leak. But you say it blew out of the muffler, it was probably the excess silicone from sliding the pipe together.

I have installed a few sets of Rineharts, and have never used the high temp silicone. Never had a leak either, just tighten the clamps good and you'll be all set.

All the silicone does is make a mess, don't waste your time using it.

Installed my Reinharts and have had them off and on several times and have never used silicon. Not sure when they changed there instructions. Just tighten and ride as others have suggested.

Same thing happened to me, Don't worry about it tighten the clamps after a couple of heat cycles and you will be good to go.
