marketing comments
[&:]Today I filled out a marketing questionaire on my 06 RG. One of the questions asked if I was satisfied with the fit and finish on the bikes fairing. I had to answer "not satisfied".
Almost every RG I've looked at ( particularly at Sturgis ) has the following:
1. Long scratch on both sides of windshield where inner-fairing rubs the black-out part of windshield.
2. Poor fit between two fairing halves. Vinyl "U" molding seperates from inner-fairing especially at windshield end. And large uneven gap between fairing halves.
3. Poor screw attachment locations for fairing halves.
I've racked my brain trying to come up with a better molding to cover the fairing joints but haven't found anything yet. With all of the customizing going on with a $20K motorcycle you'd think they'd work on the fairing joint. Any comments or similar thoughts out there?

I HEAR YA!
The Moco makes you go out and buy the chrome cover for the front of the fairing where the windshield meets the fairing BODY(along with many other items)
SEE P+A catalog ..all 832 pages!!!
THAT SHOULD BE A STOCK ITEM ...
BUT GOD BLESS HARLEY DAVIDSON.
I STILL LOVE THE BIKE !

If you want to see something funny, look on page392 of the 2007 HDparts and accessories catalog. Moco's picture of the Road Glide has the vinyl "u" molding sticking up in the air, coming apart from the fairing. I glued mine down with a very small amount of contact cement. Fit and finish is shotty at best.

[&:]As a matter of fact I did notice the RG photo in the 07 catalog. Small comfort to see HD is blind to the fit & finish issue.
I looked at the $170 chrome windshield trim and it doen't even cover the area that scratches.
