windshield and fairing
does anyone put anything between the windshield and fairing after you have taking the fairing off a few times or is there no reason to worry about water dripping inside the fairing

If you're talking about a factory Harley-Davidson fairing, they are not very well sealed against the elements. I don't think there is very much you can do to keep the rain out. There's very likely an amount of water gets into the fairing when you're washing it.
