Im thinking about buying a 2008 Street Glide. I want to know if this is a good comfortable ride on the freeway. Ive had my fatboy for 4 years and i lowered it 3" and have apes on it. I just want a cool looking COMFORTABE RIDE. is this a good bike for me?

 

This would be a significant upgrade for you. I owned a softail model for a couple of years, then went to a FLTCHU on 8/3. LOVE the touring bike and all the things that go with it.

A Street Glide is one fine machine. Before purchasing, I'd suggest going to your dealer and taking a test ride, just to make sure. Should you decide to buy it, there is nothing wrong with keeping it stock for a while, so you can decide what, if any, modifications you want to consider.

Street Glide will be a great bike for you. It gives the the blend of style & comfort. Go for it and Good Luck !!!

 

You will be so much more comfortable on the SG than the softail. I say go for it. It's an excellent bike for the long hauls. You will have to change the seat and throw a larger windshield on though for the real long trips!

 

I rode my 1999 Fat Boy to the dealership about 100 miles away, traded for a 2008 Street Glide. It felt like I rode over in a cool clasic car and rode back in a Cadallac STS. The ride on the 08 Street Glide is so much better than the 99 Fatboy it's hard to describe. On the old Evo 100-120 miles and I was needing to take a break, 200-250was like a full days ride, I've made several 300-400 Saturday rides, fatigue is not a factor, could have kept riding. I don't think you will go wrong with the Street Glide!

 

It's miles better than a softtail....I just switched and the SG is easier to handle and smoother to ride.
