you're missing one selection "NEVER" I never use one while driving. Why? Because I refuse to get an electronic leash. My wife has one, but does not use it while driving. She has the same feelings as us on the use of them while driving....she's coool

Just last week a motorcyle LEO (officer) was killed by a driver using a cell phone. He had stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense and was standing next to the vehicle on the shoulder when it happened. Reports said he had been thrown 90 feet after being hit.

Now legislators and all have jumped on the bandwagon to ban cell phone use without a hands free kit while driving. The officers death was a tragedy, but how many other tragedies have there been? Since common sense is no longer common, we need to ban cell phone use completely while driving.

I am thinking about a new large patch for my back..."That's okay I have a cruise control - my gun hand is free!"

I use my bluetooth for cell phone calls while on the bike during the working hours. Just to many things to take care of while between meeting places. Yeah, sometimes they can't hear me because of the wind, but I just slow down a bit and it works fine. Now I just wish that cage drivers wouldn't be blowing their horn at me as they pass. ;-)

for Ricks Ride - I'm just kidding.

A cell phone is an invaluable communication tool today, I would not go off on a two wheeler without mine, altho talking on the thing while riding is out of the question and IMHO really stupid...

Rarely ever talk on the cell while driving. Too distracting.

cell phones should be made to not work unless the car/truck/whatever is stopped.

I take it with me when riding my scoot, shut off, just in case I brake down.

If it's getting near dark I might pull off the road, and get a coffee and call Mama from a Starbucks or diner and say "be home soon sweetcakes, keep the homefires burning."

Otherwise, I'm like lots of others.. Lose the watch, and the cellphone!

I use my cell phone almost every time I am on or off my bike, 3000+ minutes a month, I am cautious, have never even been a near miss with an accident as a result of a cell phone call... I was in the first 30 cell phone users in the world, prior to1984 when cells were in their test are (I was a beta tester) I had a motorola radio phone..... I do have the Harley hands freebluetooth kit on my bike...... it is voice controlled, I am my own favorite person and DO NOT WANT TO GET HURT!! I would never dial a phone number manually while driving though.....

It seems most of us agree that driving and the use of cellphones cause more accidents when the two are put togeather. How often do you use your cell phone when driving your cage.
I use mine all the time ... I have no problems talking on my phone, holding a beer bottlewhile riding my bike .....[sm=icon_guiness.gif][sm=icon_cheers.gif][sm=gears.gif][sm=partyparty.gif]

Sorry, I was a little slow on that one. True story though, the guy had a cell phone cradle mounted on his handlebars. Found a cold, sweaty beer can18 feet behind his body and found the cell phone over 60 feet away. You could smell the alcohol on his breath at first. Made for a pretty ugly family notification. They were devastated, they didn't want to believe it. Surely there was someone else to blame. Witnesses said he just ran off of the road on a straight stretch of highway. It just adds to the hole perception of the reckless, beer drinkin' motorcycle people that alot of cagers portray riders as. Didn't mean to preach, just a little frustrated to see people make choices like that and then play victim when practical results happen.
