I planon connecting a Battery Tender to my 2006 FLHTCUI. I read somewhere that the 2006 Touring Bikes already have a plug on them for the Battery Tender. Haven't pulled any covers off. Wondering if anybody else knows where or if this plug exists.
Battery Tender plugs don't come stock on the Ultra's. Some dealerships put them on as a selling item. The dealership where I'm storing my Ultra for the winter is installing one for free being that I am storing it with them. I have a Battery Minder vs the Tender, but both plugs are the same, so I can use either one. Hope this helps.
I've wired my tender myself! Just lifted the seat and I leave the wire right under the seat. I reach in the backrest slit pull out the wire. Tuck it back in when I'm done. Very easy access no covers to pull. Never considered any other place. That is on the 04 Ultra.
On the 1100 ACE, I've wired the tender hook up under the left side cover.
The 75 FLH just gets alligator clipped to the exposed terminals.
However, I haven't heard anything about factory installed tender wires on the 06 Models.
My new Electra Glide Classic has a factory installed lead for a charger. It's a black cable with a lead on it right around the top of the transmission area. No need to remove any covers, it's right there. Just plug it in !
Put one on mine in just a few minutes. Not hard at all to do. I hid my wires down below the battery and brought the plug out a hole that was just above the transmission in center of the frame. Not sure if that makes sense as far as the area description or not. But I do not have to remove any sidecovers to get to it, thats the main thing.

I used the same hole on my 06 FLHTCI it seemed like a natural place for it, works great.
