I have the adjustable HD back rest and also had to put some washer under the mount bracket to push it back some. Normally I ride single and can't imagine using it with a passenger. It also comes in handy when you have to back up, you can push using your back and makes it easier.

I just got my HD adj backrest this past weekend and really like it. I kind of lock my self in between the back rest and the highway pegs makes for a comfy ride. I do most of my ridin solo so no real grips from the passanger.

I'm on my second one. Had one on my RK and now my RG. I don't like riding without it.

I spent the bucks and got a Corbin Classic Solo. I love the seat. Recently I purchased their rider backrest for the seat. It just slips in, or out for your style of riding. It also has a screw that can be fastened under the seat for security reasons. It is pricy, but so was the bike. It was worth the money to me, just in the comfort on a long haul.

I went with the ADJUSTABLE, the fit is great the wobble in the backrest is ridiculous. I am trying to come up with a fix for this as we speak. If anyone has figured out a fix for this annoying trait I would like to hear from you..............

I am using a Mustang seat with the HD fixed backrest. I wouldn't ride any distance without it! My wife is pretty small, so it doesn't bother her at all! Never tried the Mustang backrest.

I have the sundowner and adj. HD backrest on my 07 FLHX. It makes my wife too cramped to ride two up with it. It does wooblebut I'm used to it. Without the backrest my left arm and hand go numb after an hour. I wish I would have went with the Mustang 2 piece with the backrest for more options when riding solo and more room for the wife riding two up with backrest. However, I have not tried the Mustang myself.
