Have run the TW6 and the TW5G, both are great cams, the 6 is a bolt in and the 5 needs heads and springs capable of handling the .575 lift. Both build torque down low and a pretty flat power band. HQ does make some pretty darn good cams and I am currintly doing a HQ build.

A.boogeyman. Hi
I'm leaning on going 95 10:1 HQ kit. They can provide me with a close map. I have sert so I can use there new protuner. Just waiting tosee more info on tuner. Philm say's there great. On an economical level if you were to do cast pistons, big boys porting and 0034 cam set, gaskets, pushods and covers, still would need to tune. or tmax. It would be cheaper.
I am under the impression that cast piston is not a good choice seems all the builders are useing forged. Also if you do the math I don't think it's that muchcheaper and you would end up with a better combo/reliable motor.Bob

I know the issue has been addressed before in general relative to cams. However, here I am anyway lol. Working on a new build setup and want to choose a cam that will work well with a 10:1 compression or perhaps a tad lower. I am looking at the HQ 34G - The Woods TW 6G which from what I understand produce similar power results. Would like lift to be at .510 or less. I never red line my engine and pretty much want power gain from say 2000 RPM to around 4000.

Any thoughts ?

You may want to look at Zippers product line. I'm running the 575 cam set up in mine and their tuner etc.
The bike performs very well and no ping etc. I'm not going to post any Dyno runs until were finished tweaking it and I'm not convinced I made the right exhaust choice either. I'm ordering a set of Rhinehardts tru duals and going to retest.
