ok sure thing sounds good to me.
i once lost a phone and someone picked it up and they thought it was a friend of theirs, they gave it to her and she said this isnt mine. but was able to get into the directory and call "MOM" to tell her she found my phone. so my mom called my work phone and told me were to to go get it

It's a good idea, but if you go down on the bike, your cell phone probably won't survive either.

I think thats a great idea and wonder why I didnt think of that. I am going to do the same. This time of year we have a deer hit on the big slab each night up here in the mountains. I commute home each night at midnight.

When I got hit, all I had was my wallet. Seems like the cops got in touch with my wife (our number's unlisted) before I was even in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. But a cell phone with family names sure couldn't hurt.

Hack

EMS and police tell people to list their main emergency number under the name of "ICE" which stands for "in case of emergency". May be good, may not. If your family member or emergency contact member has teen age kids that use the phone..............GOOD LUCK. They will talk for hours on end. Been there.

I am one of two people in California without a cell phone. My wife is the other... Have to admit though, I have been thinking about one of the throwaway types for when out on the road.

I have the contacts listed under "ICE"

ICE 1 Home
ICE 2 Wife
ICE 3 Mom

That way it's listed in the order I them called.

i use ICE1, 2 and 3designations in my phone.
problem with putting names like 'wife' on there, if you lose your phone and someone picks it up or it gets stolen, a text message to 'wife' can get your PIN and other private information into the wrong handspretty easily.
