new amp install with ????
whats up fellas i just got done doing a hoppe quadzilla fairing speaker upgrade, but nowi;ve got a question when i went for a test ride the audio cut out and then would come back in 30sec or a min. i dont think the amp shut off or went to protection mode but its hard to tell (it in the saddlebag) i do belive all connections are solid. it didn't ever do it while stopped or in the garage not running. [ i've gota blaupunkt tha275 running two sets of polk audio db501's wired in parallel] HELP PLEASE ANYONE i will post pics of installlater tonight but want to get this figured out first.
If your not talking about the cutting out while using the CD player - Then does it lose total power (radio light go off)? - if no to these then you more then likely have short or a poor connection some where
i'll give it a try it seems to be right it sound killer for about 2 min. then they cut off and take a min or so to come back it also sort of sounds like the disk is skipping but it isn't ,the timer keeps the song time WTF

Is this a recorded cd? I have had trouble sometimes with cds I recorded at home. They just up and quit, not sure if it is buffering up or what. Try a store bought cd and see if that is better. How does the radio work?
If the radio is notquitting you could belosing power(or ground) to the amp. If the amp quits that will kill the sound but the head will still play. You may hook up a remote bulb to the power connection at the amp and watch the bulb as you ride to see if it stays lit.

make sure the amp is not bumping around in the bag -- my amp started cutting out all of sudden it was lose in the bag---got some industrial strength velcro from depotand strapped it in -- no problems

The amp would be hot to the touch if it went into protection mode. I wouldn't worry about your 4 speakers vs 2 if it doesn't get hot in the garage. Run the radio instead for a while to remove the CD variable. Just go over your work. What are you using for remote 12v? Maybe that's cutting out?
