An answer for a problem that doesn't exist IMHO. Something else to carry and smelling of gas in the saddlebag?

Yes,
For whatever reason the gasoline fill neck was changed for the 08-09 Touring. Its a "POS", I also have issue when topping the tank off wiith a HP hose.

Consider yourself lucky (you have an '08 SG, right?) if you don't have the gas-geyser problem. Personally, I don't enjoy having to carry the gassy-gasket myself. But it beats having plumes of fuel shooting out all over the bike.

Granted - Some pumps seem better than others (occasionally, I find a pump that can actually start slow - but those are very rare around here). But as careful as I was (for the first couple months or so until I got the McCuff) filling up, most of the time I was spending more time cleaning up the gas than I did pumping it.

This is a joke right? Do folks really have that much trouble filling their tanks?

To be fair here, after reading all of these posts, it seems that the only people that are having problems are those that have to use these gas pumps that are "all-on" or "all-off" with no "variable speed" option. I can now see how that could be a problem.

No Joke! If You do not have Hi-Pressure Pumps in Your area, You have no problem. But others do because of the HP pumps, which are a real problem.

I have one and it works great, just like they say. Harley also has one for the same price in Harley orange with the HD emblem on it $19.95 retail. Follow the instructions like they say and you will love it. No gas spills, fills on first click and works great on California EPA pump nozzles.

Ride Safe,
Bill G
Thanks, Bill. Snagged one today (Part # 99894-09): http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

And seriously - Never had a problem in my RK, my buddy with an '07 Ultra has no problem. '08's with a center cap and the 6-gallon tank on the other hand... They did something. Don't know what.

And don't know about the '09's...
