I bought my King TourPak from one of the members here about 2 years ago. It's got the detachable mount and can be on/off the bike in seconds. I don't have it on all the time, in fact only for road trips or when I need it for shopping (this bike is my primary transportation, so it's a grocery-getter, etc). The TourPak is a fantastic addition to the Road King, yet can be on or off any time in a flash. I love the RK stripped down, but for big trips it's a full-on bagger with GPS, TourPak, Windshield, etc.

When I stop at a Motel for the night while on the road the TourPak comes into the room with me til morning if I'm feeling paranoid.

A great investment - DO IT!

The fairing is not being made anymore. I got one of the last ones made. The reason I wanted this particular fairing was it was made with a spot for a 2" gauge. I wanted a tachometer and that's whats in the hole. The other was the back mounted 6x9 speakers. I think it has a very clean look.

As far a hooking up the trunk lights, it's pretty simple. There a company that makes trailer light harnesses for Harley's. To install it, all that is required is unplug the harness for the rear fender (under the seat) and plug there adapter between the fender harness plug and where it connects to the main harness.

The company will build the adapter harness to do what ever you need it to do. The company name is Ride Time technologies.

The pictures of the bike are no longer 100% accurate. The White Wall tires are gone (Black Walls) The front fender has been replaced with a smoothed and lowered Street Glide style fender. The round air cleaner is gone, it was replaced with a Screaming Eagle Ventilator. Also the Sony marine stereo has been removed and replaced with a Sony DSX-200 I-Pod stereo, 8 gig memory stick which currently has about a 1000 songs on it.

Hope this helps.

My King has pretty much everything a full dresser has with the exception of a CB and an intercom. My Wife asked me when I was going to put the intercom on. I told her there would be no intercom, I listen to her enough at home.

How are you attaching your sissybar luggage? I have the HD Premium roller bag. Basically the biggest bag from the new line with the sleeve that slides over the backrest pad/sissybar. Is there a work around? I emailed the company and have not heard back yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I use the lower straps around the luggage rack, but intstead of the Sleeve, I shortened up a bungy cord and go from each side of the bag under the backrest pad. Can't even see it and holds securely!

I have a detachable king tour with the luggage rack on my 2011 FLHP. I love it. I have it set up on a Kuryakyn adjustable base with spacers to get the necessary clearance for the police bags. Sorry no pics, but there are enough pics oh road kings on this thread. Yu get the idea. Awesome, but expensive purchase.

I like what I see here. I had my dealer install the 4-point docking kit when I bought the bike last year. I like the idea of the tour pack and it will likely be my next upgrade.
