PAINTED INNER FAIRING AND SPEAKER UPGRADE COMPLETED
Guys,
Just got my bike back from the shop from the inner/outer fairing swap, speaker upgrade and Klock Works crash bar eliminator... Here's my thoughts...
1) Speaker upgrade: JBL GTO 527's w/ Polk Audio Db1000's...
This is only the speaker upgrade and no amp was installed...it's not much better than stock. It does sound a little clearer, but hella distorts at volume. I even put in those foam cups from Crutchfield's as insulation. Still better than what was in there, only $150 and maybe an amp down the road would help. I'm not disappointed, because I expected it... no biggie. I wonder though, if I didn't wire the tweets in parallel to the JBL's would it sound better?... and maybe the JBL's would've sounded better by themselves??? I'm not going to worry about it until if and when I get an amp down the road.
2) Painted inner fairing:
Really not a big deal. Everthing lined up well. Very satisfied overall.
3) Klock Works Crash Bar Eliminator:
Not very happy at all. Fitment was crappy (seemed like it was an inch too long) and overall installation was a major PIA. For the price, they should've designed it better. But, I like the look without the crash bar and the alignment problem is mostly under the fairing by the air baffle so ou really don't see it. I still know it's there though.
