Default Street Glide Tri bar light to Road Glide

What all is required to put a tribar from a street glide over on a road glide ? I bought and returned the chrome tribar kit sold for $179 after finding out it was plastic. Parts guy said buy this and powdercoat it, instead of paying $480 for the street glide light and mounting parts. Then I was pi$$ed when I unwrapped and found it was plastic.

Does it really cost that much to mount the street glide tribar ?

Here is the list I used for my RG.

3596 - Qty 2 Screws to attach the LED light to the ground effects (fascia)
* 7499 - Qty 6 Flange nuts
59739-06DH - Qty 1 Ground effect - vivid black (the last two letters is the color so make sure you order the correct color)
59749-06 - Qty 1 Plug (The ground effect has holes on both sides for antennas. This is a solid plug to close one side)
59778-06 - Qty 1 Grommet (This is the rubber trim for the other hole to allow the antenna)
59790-06 - Qty 1 Ground effect support
* 59818-06 - Qty 2 Stud plates
69375-06 - Qty 1 Rear fender light assembly
76228-06 - Qty 1 Street Glide antenna bracket (If you have a rear antenna)

Optional
59021-04 - Qty 1 Rear Fender Emblem This covers the bolt that holds the rear fender support. You have to remove the rear fender support to install the ground effect support. I did not need to remove mine. I was able to remove the nut with no problem.

On an RG rear fender you will have to drill three holes on each side to mount the rear fascia using the stud plates or, you can use 3M double sided auto trim tape. NOTICE the items with an * are not needed if you choose to mount the rear fascia using the 3Mtape.....and yes it will stay on as long as you prep the surface correctly. Chicago Spike used tape on his...maybe he will chime in here. I bolted mine on and then thought about the tape. If I were to do it again,I would use tape.

Buy your parts from Zanottis on-line for the best deal.

Hope this helps,
RJ

txbanshee,
I don't remember what I paid. Plug the part numbers in here https://www.zanottimotor.com/shopping/pLookUp.php and it will give you an exact price.

Pappy,
Maybe not but you can get it in primer ready to paint!!!!

If I added correct mounting with tape total cost about $138. Thats a long way from almost $500 dealer quoted me.

I did this too on my RG and that price sounds about right.

What's the difference between the light on your parts list, 69375-06 - Qty 1 Rear fender light assembly, and the light I had on my list, 68358-07 KIT TRI-BAR RUN/BRAKE LIGHT?

Do they both look the same, butone is a run/brake light?

Does the Ground Effect come with both the sides and the light cover color matched? All one wrap-around piece?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, but this mod is also on my next Zanotti's order list.

Thanks!
