I am looking to purchase a trailer for my 08 UC. I have been online and found that "down 2 earth" has a 16 x 7 in the $3700 range. I'm not sure about 2 things. Is this a good trailer and price, and what would be the smallest trailer I would need to carry 2 bikes, that would carry 1 bike 95% of the time? Thanks for any input.

 

I bought a 12 by 7 haulmark bike trailer its great it haul 2 bikes and its low enough it will fit in a garage

 

haulmark makes good trailers. I bought a 6x12 that I use to haul my SG. I bet you could get 2 baggers in there. And I paid 2800

 

I have a 7X14 and two baggers staggered one forward a foot or so farther than the other so the handlebars or fairings aren't side by side works ok. Pretty close quarters when tying down wouldn't want anything narrower. 7X12 would be a very good size unless you had other reasons for a 16ft. I would also look at v nose trailers for less wind resistance.

Which do you enjoy more the Ultra or the flying?

 

Both. Flying gets me there quicker. ( wherever there may be ) But I got to get around once I get there. Flew to Knoxville a couple of times and rented an UC before we bought this one. Just ended my lease on a 2001 Trinidad that I flew since new. My riding got in the way of flying. ( hard to understand, not really ) Now if I flew something that would carry my Ultra???????? LOL

I have the fold up one (150FT) and it is a great trailer! It has no problem with my UC on it.

 

Just so happens I'm calling them in the morning and if they have a 7 x 16 ready to go I'll drive over there from Charleston,SC to pick one up.I'll respond about quality once I see it.
A 7 x 16 should be big enuffor 4 scoots as long as no more than two baggers, other 2 are springers anyway so I should be fine. At $3700 it appears to be about average price.

 

7x16 might be tight for 4 bikes...by the time you mount wheel chocks ,and pull foreward with your straps in front and you wont beable to stagger them so handle bars and mirrors will behitting ...might become a problem...i pull a 8x20 and have had bikes that we have had to swing mirrors on ...not to mention trying to get my fat *** in between them to hook up straps
