I put about $1000 of accessories on the bike the first night I had it..........so I really can't say what the first mod was.

Slip-on mufflers were a must..........Wild Pigs went on that first night.

After that it was a lot of chrome and goodies............and it's never stopped in the past 2-1/2 years.

First ya want to run two full tanks of gas through it, that will make ya smile, then...

For Comfort... first Rider Backrest, second Hiway Pegs, maybe new grips (I didnt like the stock ones)

Of course its all subject to what you like, make the bike your own. You dont have to follow anyone elses's "Best" Mods to make.

Others are right, this will hurt the wallet a bit and it gets addictive.

Good Luck, Good Riding, Keep the rubber side down.

I would recomend just hanging around and checking out pics and ideas. Get a good gameplan on what look you want before you buy anything. I have bought, sold and rebought items to finaly get the look I want!

The first thing you need to do is to have someone hide your credit cards for a month, then choose. No really, I agree with SoCalPappy. A backrest is great, along with highway pegs. I am more for reliability, so I haven't done any engine mods yet, although I have thought about a cam. The air, exhaust, and fuel management kit is definately amougst the first things you should do. Just be sure to get a fuel management unit that can expand enough to suit your possible future needs.

If you don't know for sure what you want to do I would recommend you put the first 1,000 miles on it stock, by then you should know what, if anything you want done. Myself, I put a backrest on my 08 UC first because I had one on my previous 2 bikes and knew I wanted one....also added some better grips and a fair amount of chrome....but I had all this stuff picked out 2 months before the bike came in. Don't spend a lot on stuff other people tell you that you need....ride it for awhile and make up your own mind. I did end up doing a stage-1 upgrade with Vance and Hines pipes, SERT and SE intake, at the 1k service because I wanted more sound and a bit more performance....not that the bike didn't perform very well bone stock.

Get your Highway Pegs and Grips right away. (I also got my derby cover, timercover and luggage rack becauseI wanted them dealer installed)

Order backrest from a 20% off place on line.

Stage 1 parts and chrome things. And your hooked.

Welcome to the darkside.

Get the HQ 120, D&D 2-1, a tuner, chopped tour pack J/K. welcome to the other side. Read the forum for 3 months before you spend any $, do a search on anything you might think you like, buy only engine mods that compliment one anoteher. Enjoy the Navy because the civilian world sucks.
Good advice MB, but I have ta say, yeah right!

I have yet to see anyone do that.

Most of the time it's cosmetic changes, but then the big motor-mods and with them, you do want to do your research. The adding the bling is addictive..
