Default so id like to lower my RKC

ive been thinking about lowering the rear of my 06 RKC a bit. i went to solow's website and saw their 'kit'. however, after reading the site, i noticed that the kits are different for RK Classics (due to the leather bags i assume). now, i picked up a pair of hard bags that i put on the bike (they look great), but im keeping the leather bags to change the look if i choose to do so.

anyone have any experience with the solow kit?

how about simply installing a pair of Street Glide rear shocks?

ideas?

I'm not a bagger guy myself but my neighbor is and he makes lowered air shocks for baggers. Apparently they are really good because he's got hundreds of sets sitting in his shop waiting to be done. He modies the factory shocks to different lengths depending on what you are looking for.

Check him out, call him if you like.

The soLow kits work fine with stock shocks and hard bags that you now have. Big PITA with the hard leather bags. My .02 is to go with shorter air shocks to lower the bike then you can run either bags you want depending on the look you want. If you put a lowering kit on with the hard bags you not be able to put the leather bags on without removing the lowering kit or drilling new holes in your hard bags to accomodate the brackets. No problem if you go with shorter shocks. $129.00 a pair at americanclassicmotors.net
Check it out.

get shorter or shortened shocks. I you get solows kit fot the classic, then it won't work with hardbags. if you get standard kit then it won't work with leather bags. standard kit changes angle of shock which leather bag will not accomodate, and classic kit spaces out shock to maintain angle which hard bags will not accomodate.
