Finally rode it!
As some of you know I recently switched from sport bikes to my first Harley. Having never riddena Harley beforeIbought an 08 Street Glide on a friends recommendation. Well, ever since I bought it in mid January the weather hasrained, snowed and generally been miserable. The last couple of months has been spent surfing the web and buying parts. Stage 1 Ness, Skull Billet Air Cleaner, PCIII, Skull Billet Horn Cover, Short Antenna. Many more mods are planned. Anyway the weather broke and it was a balmy 45 degrees here in MA and I couldn't resist the urge to take her out. All I can say is WOW! I wish I had bought a Street Glide years ago. Everyone must have wondered what was going on when they saw me grinning from ear to ear. They must have thought I was one of the guys from the Wild Hogs movie! lol There really is nothing quite like it. The bike is silky smooth, gobs of power and oh so comfy. Anyway I have a whopping 17 miles on it now but it satisfied my yearningto test it out since doing the mods. Can't wait until the weather really breaks and I can ride it for real.
With the price of gas I plan on using it everyday to comute to work. My buddies and Ialready have two five day trips planned for June and September.
Don't get me wrong I loved my sport bikes (Yamaha R1) and always will but the Harley is the way to go.
Glad to be a covert and member of the Harley crowd.

I know how you feel. I grew up on Hondas and Yamahas and to a certain extent they still own a piece of my heart.
There are many things that Jap bikes offer that I miss, such as . . .
*light weight! 350lbs!
*extras (How about a tool kit and center stand coming stock!)
*Price (Being used to buying brand new bikes for $6000 makes Harleys seem ridiculously expensive)
But all that being said, I'd never go back. The ride and comfort, fit and finish, and style, fit my 45 year old body like not Jap bike could. Period.

Oh yeah!!! I remember that feeling, my first ride on a Harley was a 96 RK and after that I was sold. As stated on previous post, your only problem now is trying to wipe that **** eating grin off your face!!! Congrats!!! "D"
New Harley owner/rider here too. Nothing much quite like it, is there?
Congratulations
