Default Street Glide or Road King Std???????

I have a similar thread that has obtained excellent feedback. Now I am down to 2 choices. I started with a 100th Anniversary VROD. Loved the performance but not a good scooter for touring. I switched to a 2005 Fatboy and installed the touring windshield. Love the wind protection and look. Great bike. But now I got bit by the Touring family bug!!

I am selling the Fatboy and switching to a touring bike. I am 5'8" and the touring windshield does the job perfectly. I gather the touring windshield on the RK Std will do the same. I suspect the SG factory windshield will not do the job. Assuming I upgrade the windshield on the SG to an aftermarket 8", will I get better wind protection from the SG than a RK (with the windshield).

Your feedback is appreciated since I am tired on buying and selling. I just want to ride the heck out of the Harley.

Thanking you in advnace. Ride hard and ride safe!!

Go with the SG...Radio... And consider the 8" Upper Recurve from ClearView. It pushes the Airflow 1.5" - 2" Higher.

Get a Road King
It will never go out of style.

The SG is the "big seller" right now, but that will change. Something else will come along. They always do.

Fairings are nice, if you like that sort of thing, but you have no options. You'll never see the road in front of you, just this giant and ugly piece of plastic.

With a Road King you can ride with a windshield or without one. You can even buy a batwing fairing for it, .........if you want to look like an old man.

Only you can decide between barndoor or batwing. Once you get tunes, it's real hard to ride without 'em again.
