Default Hardbag spring clip/pin fastener help

Before I scun my knuckles, scratch my paint or do some other stupid thing I thought I'd ask here before I wander into the swamp.

So I was taking off my hardbags today to get at the rear wheel to do some cleaning and on my left side, the front little spring clip/bolt wont come off. It looks like the twist bolt or pin seems to have spread when I maybe forced it on the last time or something..

So I'm looking down in there and it is looking very difficult to get at to squeeze the two little sides of the end of that pin together. I'm wondering if I can remove the bracket black "C" bracket that attaches the bag to the frame? There's a bolt there, but there might be a nut on the other side of it, and I can't see it?

Anyone got any advice on this little doohickey? Does that brass spring clip thing just slide off? If it does I might be able to get a set of needle-nose pliers in there to sqeeze the pin ends together.

I can't be the first one with this little annoying issue?

Tried a search and didn't come up with anything..

Just undo the 7/16" bolt and take the bracket off with the bag, then straighten it out. When you put the bag back on , make sure you align it properly and it doesn't rub the side cover.

The nut is captured in a clip so you don't need to put a wrench on it.
