Same problem here! Running along loud and proud then nothing. Sometimes it starts and other times I have to skip songs. Works great on store bought CDs. 2003 Ultra with upgraded stereo and large amp under the tour pack. This thing really sounds good.

Never had a problem with my MP3's skipping, of course I buy quality Cd's and not those bargain brands. What type are y'all using? It may be a factor if your using cheap Cd's..."D"

Not sure what type or brand CDs are being burnt. They are given to me by friends. I buy a few new CDs or ask for them as gifts.
I am now thinking of going with an MP3 or Ipod. Don't own one yet but with all the issues of skipping I am leaning in that direction. I keep over packing the tour pack and breaking the CDs I listen to. Thank's Xtreme Hawg

Too bad it is out of warranty if it is the 2004 in your sig.
Does it do it with a commercial CD?
There have been several radio software upgrades, but don't know if they
are compatible with yours.
Best info will come from a dealer as to compsatability.
from there you can (if applicable) do your own download.
I don't have a 2004 manual as I don't have a 2004 book or bike

I bought an MP3 player on ebay ,4GB. for $28.00 ,and it is so small it velcros to the dash.I love it,and if it dies I can get another, it will also store pics, movies, and it is a voice recorder.
The only bad thing about it is that I had to wait for 3 weeks to get it, as it shipped from Japan.
this thing is so small, and light it is about the same size as a box of wood matches.

When you record your "home burn't CD's", set the program Burn rate to the slowest setting possible. This should alow a better play back on your CD payer.
