I want to know who has installed an aftermarket amp and speakers on their sg and what amp have you used. I am interested in hog tunes but if there is something comparable for less money that I can wire in myself I am all for it. I can't stand not hearing my tunes! Thanks

 

You know I was happy with my stereo at first. But when you are at 70+mph it gets pretty quiet and starts to get distorted when you crank. Wonder how much it is to get the amp and speakers at the dealer installed?

 

I just received my Pyle 240 watt amp...$55 on ebay(new)....going to install it this weekend to a Sony from biketronics....from what I've heard it a simple install.....I'll check back and let you know how it sounds....

i added the hogtunes amp and speakers to the sg. easy....except for running the power wire under the tank. sounds great too.

 

did the hog tunes amp bost up your volume at high speeds..

 

You don't need to pay the dealer to install the speakers. My husband and I did both of our SG's in less than 30 minutes. Really easy and truly plug and play. And we had never taken our fairings apart either. As for the amp, I haven't done that. I can tell you that just replacing the two speakers with the Hog Tunes on our bikes it made a world of difference. No distortion when you crank it. Next I want to install tweeters.

 

Normally distortion means the speakers need more power from the stereo. So if I installed better speakers I would think the sound would be worse without an amp.

 

I started out with JBLs.They were better than stock but not good enough.I saved my money and went with the Hawg Wired amp and speakers.Now I have a great sounding system,even at high speeds,and I have no regreats.If moneys not too tight,I would recommended this set-up.

 

yep same here hawg wired amp and component speakers, expensive but awesome sound.
