I have another pair of the floating buttons on my desk so you can put on a pair of rotors....He..He..He..saves you time. I made 2 sets total when I made yours. By this time hopefully you polished them out nice & shinny! Let them suckers float!

Bryan, nice post. I see now why you are in communications.

Kerry, How are you feeling? Is the fast approaching summer going to see you on your King lots? A photo of my friends farm near Leesburg. He is 71 & I rode with him all over the area. He has a 1978 (K-Z 1000 ?) Kawasaki 1000 in brand new shape but has over 200K miles on it. He bought the bike brand new & still looks new.

Great post Bryan! So are you gonna pull the Race Tech on the front? I'm still pretty amazed at that system. Guess it's all a matter of perspective.

12" length.....been out on the highway and side streets....it feels as tho i'm sittin lots lower than with the Plat's at the sweet spot....now the front needs help....the bike loves the highway, it glides over bumps and dips....sidestreet action is taught but not harsh....its very apparent the rear wheel is on the ground....judgin from the tell tale oil line on the shaft(would indicate how much they compressed) it had 3/8ths more travel....i wasnt kind to the bike....i'm leaving wed for a 2 week ride thru the smokies, 2up and loaded....it'll be interesting to see how these Penske's handle that
Great review as usual Brian...Please post back to this thread about your observations after the two up tour. I'm subscribed now, so I shouldn't miss the update.

PS: What are you and John doing with all those take off shocks?? I could use a set for my roadglide.

Penske Racing Shocks sponsored my Sporster Performance 883 Flattracker fron 2002 until 2004. Excellent company. All the shocks are assembled and built to order. They don't have an off the shelf per say shock. Our shocks had slow and fast compression settings, adjustable rebound and spring settings. They worked flawless. They even had bill Werner as a track represenative who assisted in set up's and was a huge help. I had recieved sponsorships from Works, Progressive and American Made over the years. While I loved Works Performance, Nothing came close to the Penske's. Great write up and phots Brian, Thanks.

wish'd i'da bought these first....the Penske shock keeps the rear tire glued to the ground for ultimate traction while the seat barely moves.....good thing bc friday nite a week ago we got caught on the Smokie Mtn Nat Parkway in the big storm that killed several....trees were breakin off and falling in the road...it was hailing sideways....the leaves were shredded and covered the ground, it looked like oregano with pearl onions and to top it off, a white out condition bc of the intense fog....i rode it with toni .... of the group of 10 bikes we were the ONLY one to not drop or crash...i attribute this to the performance of the Penske shock....it positively located the rear tire ON the ground....over the last week and a half i have twisted, adjusted, & tried almost everything i could to find the correct adjustment for us, two up on the Penskes.....both the preload and comp/rebound adjuster are very sensitive....ended up 1/8th a turn less preload and 16 flats down from the + stop....no air to fool with....no wallowin....no pogo'n....no top out or bottom out....even ran over a coon and it felt like a twig....toni did not even use her airhawk the entire trip....within the first 100 miles the shock settle'd in .... now the front end seems to need some help, the rear is on rails

we rode the dragon ... two of the men riding with us are good riders and were solo....usually they run off and hide on the twisty's bc thats how they ride....this time, toni and i kept having to back off and we wernt even pushin it

i have not yet started to fiddle with the shock for solo riding....right now its positive and firm like a sports car....not jarring, just positive...i may just leave it alone, i kinda like it
