The lens on the headlight of my 2001 Road King has a film on the inside. I did a search and was did not find a post which addressed this issue. Is it possible to clean the inside of the lens? If so, how is it done and what can be done to prevent this from happening again?

I just put some cleaner on a cloth at the end of a screwdriver and wipped it around the inside. It worked pretty well for me.
