1-1/4" 16`s shoulder level feels right .bars are vertical & able to go with SE shorty smoked wind breaker.

Save yourself some time and money and push those stock bars forward a few inches and it's like riding a different bike. I hated the bars the way they were set up all I'm saying is try it you might like it. I'm sure I will set out the cash at some point to put some 12s or 14s but I Just shelled out 20 grand for a bike.
Also moving the controls helped eliminate the crappy wrist position.

05 RK Custom with Wild Ones 10" mini apes.
Kept all my original cables, only had to extend the wires.
That kept the price way down to the cost of the bars at $215.

Okay, but why not just start a new thread instead of giving this one a 10 year anniversary? And HD never came out with a touring bike that left the crate with suitable bars.
