Default Accessories for a '95 Road King Hard to Find

I recently purchased a '95 Road King and am finding that it is difficult to find accessories for this model year... seats, chrome details, etc. seem to always list "1997 and up". This is my first bagger, so it's all new to me, but is there something way different about my '95 than '97 and up?

BigNick,

I bought a Road King new in 95 and rode it until 05. They are great bikes. Harley still has a few accessories that will fit older bikes but they tend to get more scarce as the bikes get older. The frame changed in 97 so some parts for the 97 and up won't fit previous years. I would recommend looking at the aftermarket. Mustang and Corbin still make seats for that year and other manufacturers still provide parts and accessories as well.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.

SB

by the way, what color did you get? Mine was Aqua pearl and silver.

Thanks Seminolebagger, nice bike!... my bike is black. I have attached a pic below. I just checked out Custom Chrome's online catalog... looks to be a pretty good selection.

Thanks!

Man "BigNick", that sure is a nice lookin' bike!!! The good news is that most people can't tell it's older by looking at it. Most will think it's new. The bad news is that yes, it's hard to find some parts for older bikes. I had a '92 DynaGlide Custom and man, it was a BITCH to find anything for it on the used market. (I like buying used and saving some moolah)

Ted's V-Twin will also have a lot of parts for fitment on your scoot. He sells a lot of older stuff.

Look at the aftermarket sellers. I've got a 30 year old ironhead I can still get anything I need for.

Check the Evo classic forum for information on what new stuff fits or can be made to fit.
