Race tuner, fuel pack, PC111 or hd factory download. What's best with pipes and stage 1 ac?

 

Best or easiest?
you got a basic setup and if you plan to stay there then the Fuel pak is the easiest but if you want a little more tunability the either PC111 or the race tuner are fine and comparable. I have the fuel pak and the only thing is that every time you disconnect the battery you have to reset the throttle roll again but it really is easy so no biggy.

 

I still dont know what a HD Download is?

The dealer can install a map created by HD to reset your ECM to work with the pipes and air cleaner. It's a one time map install for $150 or so. It's not adjustable, so if you want to change pipes or something later on, you either have to pay another $150 for another download or choose to install a PCIII or something similar at that time.

At least, that's what I think it is...

wood butcher - this is a great question. I just posted something similar in the Electrical/Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel Injection section but didnt get much response. I just got my bike on Friday and am trying to take a crash course.

I think another good question would be what would give the most power with the same A/C and pipes; PCIII, SERT or other tuner?

 

Any of the three would give the same power when tuned correctly since they all do the same thing. The SERT may have a slight edge since it allow more parameters to be tuned.

 

+1 Jamies a good guy to deal with. You'll get air cleaner, pipes, and a pretuned PCIII setup. Even save a few bucks. The only thing you need is a pc or a laptop to set throttle position.
