what size alan head is it i cant get any if mine to fit is there an easy way to get it off so i can replace it , it has finally worn out and i cant get that bolt out
00 road king classic anyone have suggestions or pictures going on a trip friday night have to fix it before then
The allen wrench needed is 3/16. The cap screw is 1/4:20. The bore through the primary is 11/16. You will need to know this if you drive out the old bushings and install new ones. There are two bushings in the bore. Drive them both out with an 11/16 driver and drive the first new one in all the way to the back of the bore. Drive the second one in and leave it flush to the outside of the case. Some people, including me, also install a zerk fitting so they can grease the shaft when needed.

+1, I took the zerk out of the steering head and exchanged that one for a 45 degree to make greasing that easier and put the straight one I took out in my shifter.
