Got ignored again !
I went in the local HD dealership here, Mann's HD in Columbus, IN. this morning. The beginning of their Dealer Demo Day. While I was there, I decided I'd buy a new half helmet. The new Hybred. The sales girl said they don't make that kind of helmet and proceded to walk off! I ask her to check with the other staff. She walked away and asked them. They told her the same thing and comletely ignored me after that! I drove 35 miles to another dealer to buy one. I then took it back to the first dealership to show them. This is not the first time I've had trouble with the clothing or bike sales department, But their service department is second to none. Top notch all the way. I can't say enough good things about them. I Drove the same 35 miles 2 years ago to pay cash for the Ultra we have now because of the local sales staff. Just putting the word out.........
Not surprising. At my local stealer service in the apparel department is very good.
The parts department is OK. I have learned to have a part number in hand when go in the door. On he other hand, the motorcycle service department is worthless.

During the days of waiting lists and price gouging, some Chicago area dealers snubbed customers. For example, in 2000, I wanted a new Electra Glide Standard. Suburban HD (Palatine, IL) told me they sell bikes to "preferred customers". Conrad's HD (Joliet, IL) marked up bike prices if you didn't live in their territory. I will never visit these dealers again. Chicago HD has never played games. I have since bought two new bikes from them.
I bought 3 bikes from Mann's before they moved to their current location. The first 2 purchases I dealt with Larry Mann and was very happy with the deals. On the last bike I had to deal with one of his kids since he was semi retired from the business.
After that experience I will hardly set foot in the store and I won't buy anything from them. I now do business with the next dealer up I-65 and have bought 5 bikes there since 2002

Have you been to Home Depot lately? When they first opened years ago you'd have 3 associates climbing on you back as soon as you walked in the door. Now you have to hunt for someone if you need help.
My local dealer makes people feel like it is a bother to sell parts to them. Thank goodness a local indy opened a block from the dealer and sells HD parts at 10% off to everyone. He is very busy!!
