It's worth whatever he can actually get out of it! Now that's the end of the story...

Ah agree with ol' Speedie thar (seg) - it's worth what it sells for. Based on his previous attempts ta sell it, ah'd hafta say he's overpriced fer yer area.

Are you trying to buy the bike or doing an apraisal for him?His first attempt of selling the bike might say the price is too high, but selling anything is like fishing.

I think he is asking too much. When I have traded my bikes in I checked out KBB.com and expected something in between trade in and retail. Seems to have worked for me. Just the same I would not expect anyone to pay more or less than these numbers. I'm sure your friend would like to think it is worth a lot more, but this is just reality unfortunately. Trade in is $7840 and retail is $10690. I think a fair price would be $9000-$9500 since it has such low mileage.

In CA I just picked up an old police 99 RK for $6500.00. Times are tough and cash is king right now.

I think it's way over priced.

KBB is typically much higher than some of the other pricing guides. Dealers user it since it drives prices higher. It doesn't seem to be reality though at least from my experience.

I sold my '99 RKC in September of 2006. It had about 28000 miles on it. Had a really nice 95" kit with cams and head work (85hp and 95tq), 18" American Wire wheels, chubby bars wired internally, Corbin seat, chrome front end and a ton of little detail stuff. A really clean bike. I got $12,000 for it. I thought I was asking a lot. I had 6 calls within the first week, and the first person that actually came out to look at it bought it.

That was over 2 years ago. The economy (and country in my opinion) is in the crapper, and the '09s are out. If I still had my '99 I would be listing it for a little under $10K and hoping to actually sell it for something over $9200.

Just my opinon.
