All my life i wanted a harley. Finally bought a roadking a year ago.
always had a little back pain no big deal.Untill now i have been going to the doc they say they have found the problem.(in the past 8 months i have seen 4 differnet doc) it is called a case of muscular dystrophy.now i have a lot to think about. My family have a lot of concerns when i go to ride. And it is slowly
getting worse. It's a protein and spinal cord thing.I can live with what evar the good lord gives me.I have no problems with that. Now that being said this is my ?. has any one built a trike out of a harley here and the cost.Iknow harley builds a trike 29,990. Butt will take such a beaten really don't know
if it will be worth it. I guess i'm looking for some ideas. help if you can.
Instead of building a trike I have seen a company that has a kit that will allow you to bolt on a set of wheels similar to training wheels on a kids bicycle. Basically you end up with a trike that can be converted back to a stock bike quite easily.
Trike conversions aren't cheap. The HD Tri-Glide is a great price for you get. But if that hits your wallet to hard then I would go the route Widowmaker suggested. Now these aren't the prettiest looking units, they are functional for the intended purpose.
Sorry to hear about your back problem. Life can throw some curves. The good Lord promises that He won't give us any more trials than we can withstand. Stay close to Him and He will bless you. Good Luck, and God Bless...
Back when I pulled a motorcycle camper, my SO convinced me to try one of the voyager kits. She thought that we could put the Voyager on to pull the camper and remove the voyager once we disconnected the camper. It was a good theory. However, when the Voyager is removed, the mounting bracket stays with the motorcycle. It hung so low, it scraped the ground in the mildest turns. I got rid of it after one trip.
You can find used Voyager kits on line. Try one out. If you really like it, take it off and sell it. Then convert to a real trike. I'm not saying the voyager drives exactly like a trike, but my experience driving both is they are very similar.
