The front fender is just a few bolts that hold it to the forks. Use loctite (blue) if you have it. I would imagine for the rear you might want to take the bags off first and see what needs to be done. I don't ahve a tourer, so I really don't know about the rear. But I am sure it is pretty simple.

You need to remove alot, including the rear tire/wheel to get the fender off. If you're not willing to do that, take it to the shop.

just take off the bottom bolts of the shocks out, no need to remove rear wheel, shop manual helps

+1 You will need a jack to lift the bike. This will give you all the clearance needed to get to some the bolts at the rear. It is a piece of cake, go for it.

I have been thinking about painting the ultra. I may leave the back fender. You dont see much of ti anyway and the other parts are not to bad to get off. I will stay with a similar color any way.

The service manual will give you the torque specs for the axle nuts, caliper bolts, etc. Too many horror stories of guys breaking the axle nut retainer bolts by overtorquing to try it without the torque wrenches and correct values.

Good luck with your project.
