Go with the Kuryakan Heat shields. They DO fit with the adjustable backrest on my 08 Ultra

I got the H-D heat shields on my 08 Ultra and they work great. I also just got an adjustable backrest for it and here is an option,

Not everyone will like this but I was bored one day.
I had an old actuator laying around from a jetski trim motor. Any 12v linear actuator with a 3/4 to 1" throw will work. I removed the stock nitrogen cylinder and replaced it with this. Throw in a DPDT momentary on, center off, momentary on switch and presto!

While I was doing it I milled another .375 into the front of the slot to give me more backward travel or lean back when not two up.
Now just push the switch up or back for auto adjustment.

Yes they work, I have them now.
I just like the look of the HD ones better
Not looking for the "best" one, just the best looking
The HD ones are smaller and fit tighter up in the frame

Did my buddies bike too.

Would you be able to post a picture of how it looks after the mod you did. Sounds like a great idea. I'd like to see where you did the cutout. Thanks a lot.
