Yeah, so I just re-read the part about "except the rider position". That's a new one to me. Never heard that particular exception before. It either fits into the mounts or it doesn't. I can't see how it would affect the rider position in any way. Weird. I'd say call your dealer and ask, but I'd bet my next paycheck that the guy behind the parts counter wouldn't know what it meant either.
As for my sissy bar config: It's a two piece setup. I have the standard H-D rigid side plates and a CycleVisions (cyclevisions.com) 18" Attitude Stick. I had both the stick and my sideplates powder coated in wrinkle black.
