Whos using what MP3 player?
ORIGINAL: nocages4me
I currently am using a Sony 10 disc MP3 changer mounted in the saddlebag. I just hard wired it into the system via the antenna (FM Modulator) and powered it up at the battery and cig lighter. Hindsight I would have went with a Ipod and just plugged it straight into the radio and saved the saddlebag space. I would not recommend the changer for the fact that it vibrates alot in the saddlebag and at certain rpm's the disc will skip. On the plus side I have 115 full length cd's in my bike at all time in MP3 format.

Right now, I've been using a RCA Lyra to play mp3/WMA tracks.
Typical of these gadgets, it's very small and just rides along in my windshield pouch.
However, I have been thinking of getting the Harley mp3 player.
The ability to have the control buttons right under my thumb, seems like a big plus.
I have never sold one at our store, and still have the first one in stock since they came out. The cost is probably the main reason it's still on the shelf.
So I'm thinking of buying it for myself ("employee discount"...ha, ha, ha!).
It seems very well made, except I'm wondering how well it will withstand the outdoor environment.
If you have one of these players (Bruce?), please let me know your opinions.

I installed the MP3 player HD sells along with the speaker upgrade/amplifier. I love it. No problems so far. Controlling it is Very Easy with the touch of my thumb.
It comes with a 64mb Sandisk card. So it only hols about an hours worth of songs in mp3 format. You can double that if you use WMA format. Since wma format records at 64kbs, you may lose some sound quality. What I did was purchase a 1GB Sandisk memory card. So far, I have 8 CDs on it and it is only half full (MP3 format).

I have just purchased an I Pod. Its the 30 GB one, holds photos as well . If I load the songs with no loss, they are CD quality, and it holds 2000 songs. Yes thats right 2000 if I lower the quality it can hold 4000.
I know they are expensive but i can play it in my car on on the bike.Just plugs in to the Aux socket.
I pick up the bike on Saturday ...will take pictures

I was using the NEX IIe MP3 player. I liked it because it ran off 2AAs and used Compact Flash Memory. I thought my 512 card was enough... until I got an iPod for my birthday. Now we're talking. I love being able to ride cross country and never hear the same song twice. This kind of stuff really spoils you!
I use my ipod, attached to my clip on belt and connected using a monster cable. I am going to check out a cup holder to put my Ipod in to see it that works as well, anybody tried it? Monster cable from best buy, but you buy a much cheaper cable if you don't want the high quality.
