Default APES: 12.5" or 14"?

I've narrowed my choices down to 12.5" or 14" Wild 1 Chubby's. How many have them on there RK or RKC's or others? I have noone near me that has either.

After looking at every pic on Wild 1's web site, I'm noticing that the bikes w/12.5's on them seem to have the bars in line with the fork angle. And the 14's seem to have the tilted forward a hair.

I'm 5-7 and want to have my arms at the most comfortable level for long range riding. Anyone have pro's or con's to either and what choice did they make and if your happy?

Pics are welcome. Thanks-

I have the 12.5 on my bike. Back then the 14's were not out. I wish I had 14's or 16's.

If that's the same bike in the sig pic, that's a nice upgrade you did with the seat and bags. Takes a lot of nerve to go that far from the norm, but it's definitely one of a kind. I PM'd you. Thanks for the pic, looks great!

Hey Jonny -

One thing I did when I had my old RKC and was considering switching bars was go to Home Depot and buy a bag of 90* PVC elbows and an 8' stick of PVC. Then I made a set of apes and put them on the bike. I made several sets to see what felt best. It's easy to do, and with the price of bars, was well worth it. I never did make the change before I sold it though.

Johnny,

It's the same bike. It took me a while to pull that seat off. I just said if I didn't like it I could always go back to black.

Chubby 14s here also. Perfect, and yes, they're tilted forward a little (after this pic was taken). If you go with these, I went +6 on clutch and +8 on idle/throttle, although looks like your scoot is an '08 and TBW so you won't need those. +6 followed flow of bars nice, could have done +8 if you like alittle cable loop at top. Either would be good.

14" Chubby's on my RKC. I very comfortable and seem to give me more control.

I went with 16" Chubby bars. I'm glad I didn't go any shorter. The angle of my bars varies with the seasons. During the colder months, I keep it closer to being inline with the forks so the windshield can be used. When it warms up, I'll move them back out.
