Nice ride today!
Well, today we had some mid 70 temperatures, with rain and snow projected for the next two days....here in old VA. Just put the 02IEDs on the 07 EG Standard and put in two new stock plugs. She has 5900 miles and Amsoil 20-50 in crankcase and primary and Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90 in transmission. Went on an all-around ride today....twisties, Interstate, and 55 mph country roads, riding two up. I am 160 and my wife is 125. 180.9 miles and filled up with 3.883 gallons......best mileage we have ever gotten.....over 46.5 mpg. Can't say if the IED helped or the new plugs get the credit. IED should have actually dropped the mileage. I am a cruiser, so almost all my riding is in closed loop mode. I usually shift by 3000 to 3200. This machine has all the power I want. My only complaint has been the top end noise and the Harley tick. Guess I was used to my Suzuki Volusia. All I could hear was my Cobra slash cut drag pipes. The HD has Rush slip ons.
I have not really adjusted to the high gearing of the HD. 4th gear aint bad for a lot of stuff. I find myself dropping to 2000 rpms often and having to go lower. She runs really good at 2500-2800. 6th gear is definitely for 70+ mph.
Well, I didn't wear ear plugs today. The top end noise seemed a bit quieter, as long as I kept the rpms up. I guess I will keep everything the same. Started to go with the XIEDs but opted for the 02IEDs. No codes for me.
Thanks,
