Can the PC be placed in a plastic bag? Does anyone know if the PC's get hot...or will they heat up if placed in a plastic bag?

Water will not directly affect the PC unit itself, note this same unit is used in offroad and ATV applications where they are even submersed at times. And it is very uncommon to get water in the plug and have an issue. The only exception we have seen is on the 99-01 Magnetti Marelli bikes where the rubber boot is not installed properly. What year and model bike do you have?

The only time I ever had in issue with mine was when I washed it...I relocated it to mount on the side cover and havn't had anymore issues since not even in the rain.

This happened to my 03 RKC several times. The first time was when I washed the bike on a road trip in Colorado. I thought it was the PCIII so I started to take it out of the loop. When I unplugged it and water ran out of the plug I was relieved. I shook the water out , plugged it up and all was well. After the third time I did the grease and tape and ended the problem.

No problem, on the 02-07 bikes I recommend mounting the PC unit as well as the plug under the RH side cover. You can do this by turning the plug sideways and it will then fit under the sidecover out of the elements, preventing any issues from getting the plug wet.

hmmm....i have mine mounted per the included instructions, and i think the PC module is under the battery box. maybe i should try to re-route everything to keep it all under the sidecover with the ECM

Been there done that. Had to unplug all of it and use it, and have not had a problem in 3 years.

EDIT - There was a LOT of Die Electric Grease used on mine and everything is good with it.
+1 for me, first wash!
Packed every hole and remounted connector for "self draining"

Jamie
What about the plastic bag, will that work? Also Jamie I had my bike on the Dyno after I got my setup from you, He said it was the closist canned map he has ever seen, but he did get 2 more horsepower out of it. Thanx again.
