Results of the Thermal Wrap

I took my heat shields and pipes completly off. I wrapper the front head pipe from right behind the flange all the way to where the crossover pipe slides onto it. I wrapped the rear head pipe on the right side only, from right behind the flange, all the way down to where the V&H mufflers slide onto it. I did not see any reason to do the left side pipe because it does not get as hot as the right side does.
I have been down in my back real bad,but when I get the chance,in the next few days,I will pull the heat shields and take some pics to show my work. Just remember to leave room to slide the pipes onto one another. The heat shield clamps also help to hold the wrap on. I have washed the bike(pipes included)and went riding and the only problem I have had so far is the stink from the wrapping and paint curing. But after that stopped,it is well woth the effort. I followed instuctions to the letter and it is VERY NOTICABLE,to me and the wife. You won't regret doing this little mod.

unless im wrong, of course the heat issue would be helped. did someone here ever suggest that what would happen is pipes cracking? comon you are securing the pipes and forcing the heat and fumes out more efficiently. i have ALWAYS wrapped the headers on all my drag cars. kept heat down and made the exhaust more efficient. and if you did the wrap and set right, the smell and fumes should be gone in 2 days maybe 3. but you were right, the hardest part folks run into is wrapping way to deep on the pipe and forgeting joints and connection issues! sounds like you followed the directions though. this really helped out the temp and small amount of perf on my Kingpin!!

I like this, looks like the titanium wrap can be done with out removing the pipes, just the heat shields.
